Navadurga Barahi Mask
This is a beautifully hand-sculpted mask of goddess Barahi, a feminine energy Baraha, a boar incarnation of Hindu God Vishnu. It is a replica of the original Navadurga mask used in the city's annual dance ceremony a religious Navadurga festival for Hindus in Bhaktapur.
There will be total of 13 artists, including 12 masked deities, perform the Navadurga dance in different places around Bhaktapur.
The mask is hand sculpted and painted by the artist who sculptures the real mask for Navadurga deities.
All our masks are handmade. Each piece is unique and it is impossible to reproduce exactly the same. Slight differences may therefore appear in the shapes, proportions, colors and materials used in our descriptions and specification sheets.
