Magnificent Shakyamuni Buddha Statue made with Red Sandal Wood
It is an exquisite piece of wood carving carved by profound artist devoting his finesse artistry to the magnificent masterpiece. The center piece accommodating Buddha's carving is carved on the red sandal wood (rose wood) which in itself is a precious wood and the outer part or the throne of the buddha is carved on the Champ wood.
The center piece of the statue comprises of different form of Buddha and the throne has a different sculpture of animals and mythical creatures; the upper part of the throne has a Chhatra (Parasol) and Garudha below it accompanied by two serpents on the either side along with Hitimanga being carried by the nymphs being carried by the lions and elephant carrying them all on the bottom. The Singhasana (pedestal supported by lion) is carved with bajra in the center and lion on either side of it.
It is an outstanding piece of art with utter perfection which holds an immense value in Buddhism. The center piece of the statue is itself carved on a rare and valuable rose wood which even more intensifies the value of the statue.
