Masterpiece Shakyamuni Buddha Statue 27"

Sculpture is a one of a kind statue, fully gold plated 27 Inch Masterpiece Shakyamuni Buddha Statue, handcrafted by the very talented artist from Patan. This Statue weighs 20kg and is gold plated on face, body and lotus and finely hand painted on face.

Shakyamuni Buddha is seen meditating in the Bhumisparsa(earth touching gesture) on an elaborate detailed carved lotus throne with a floral carving cushion. The left hand is on his lap holding an alms bowl. Shakyamuni Buddha is the founder of Buddhism, the enlightened one, sage of Shakya Clan also known as Siddhartha Gautam.

The carving all over statue and base made this statue as masterpiece among many Shakyamuni buddha statues. The fine carving on front robe, base and back, with mainly the floral motif. The Halo is ornamenting metallic surfaces with designs in relief hammered out from the back by hand with turquoise and coral stones.

Protecting the Face
As the face is painted it is highly recommended that the face of the statue is to be greatly taken care of as it requires a very professional and skilled face artist to repair the face of dirt and damages. Commonly to protect it from damage the statue with painted face is placed under a glass box and it is always covered with a cotton face mask if it has to be moved.
